Vena Energy has announced that it has commissioned the 100 MW/150 MWh Wandoan South Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project located approximately 400 km northwest of Brisbane in the Darling Downs region, Queensland, Australia.
The project is connected to Powerlink’s Wandoan South Substation and has the capacity to store energy equivalent to powering approximately 57,000 average-sized Australian households annually.
The full operational dispatch rights of the Wandoan South BESS have been officially transferred to AGL under a 15-year contract.
