Commercial operations started at 125 MW Solar PV Project in Australia

Vena Energy has launched commercial operations of a 125 MW Amazon Wandoan solar project, developed near Woleebee, Queensland, Australia.

The solar project is equipped with about 250,000 Risen modules from Power Electronics and single-axis trackers from PV Hardware. The solar facility produces up to 365 GWh of energy annually, or the equivalent of supplying clean renewable energy to approximately 60,000 averaged-sized Australian households.

This project is part of the larger, multi-stage Wandoan South Project, which has permissions for 450 MW of battery energy storage and 650 MW of solar energy. It is supported by a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amazon.

Under a contract with Vena Energy, GRS, the solar engineering division of Gransolar Group in Spain, built the project and is also responsible for the upkeep and operations of the solar farm's initial phase. The project was declared operational in February 2024, having begun construction in May 2022.
