AGL Energy to purchase power from 100 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Wandoan

AGL Energy Ltd will purchase the energy produced from the 100 MW/150 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project of Singapore’s Vena Energy that will be installed in Queensland under a 15-year contract.

The energy storage facility will be built near Wandoan in the Western Downs region at an estimated AUD120 million (US$81.1 million) of investment. 

Once operational, the project will supply power for the consumption of up to 57,000 homes. AGL will own, operate, and maintain the facility.
