The wind farm in the commune of Freirina, province of Huasco, comprises of 29 units of 5.7 MW Nordex N163 wind turbines that have already begun to deliver 100% renewable electricity into the grid. The asset was constructed and commissioned in less than 12 months.
The Atacama project will generate more than 450 GWh of clean energy each year, which is equivalent to the average yearly use of 150,000 homes, and will prevent the release of more than 320,000 tons of CO2 into the environment each year.
