The company is involved in the promotion, construction, and operation of electricity generation facilities from renewable sources. The company has regional projects in Chile, Peru, and Brazil. In northern Chile's Antofagasta (II) region, Ibereólica is involved in building two thermo solar plants, Maria Elena (400 MW) and Pedro de Valdivia (360 MW); and four wind farms in Atacama (III) region, Loa (528 MW), Cabo Leones I (170 MW), Cabo Leones II (204 MW) and Cabo Leones III (128 MW). In Peru, its project portfolio includes the hydroelectric plants Las Orquídeas (20 MW), Huallaga I (313 MW), and Apurímac (180 MW), while in Brazil the firm also plans to develop the Estancia Santa Augusta wind park in Río Grande do Sul. Ibereólica was founded in 1999 and is based in Madrid.
