Repsol has planned to develop more than 1.7 GW of renewable energy projects in Italy. The project is estimated to cost around EUR500 million euros (US$550 million). The company plans to eventually grow its renewable capacity to 20 GW by 2030.
Repsol’s plans in Italy include a portfolio of 943 MW of wind power and 825 MW of solar. Construction of the initial projects will commence later this year and early next year, with most of the portfolio becoming operational in 2025. While companies have faced challenges in terms of rising costs and supply chain issues, Repsol remains confident in its investment in renewables and sees the returns as achievable.
