Enel Green Power (EGP) has set a new record in 2022 with the development of 5,223 MW of new renewable capacity, including 387 MW of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Over 80 solar (2,622 MW) and wind (2,160 MW) facilities comprise the newly added capacity. As of December 31, 2022, EGP had 67 facilities under development with 7,200 MW of renewable capacity, including 900 MW of BESS. In 2022, EGP generated 124 TWh of renewable energy, including 65.9 TWh from wind and solar, 52 TWh from hydro, and 6 TWh from geothermal.

The capacity is distributed as follows: 1,137 MW in Europe, primarily in Italy and Spain; 1,364 MW in Latin America, primarily in Chile and Brazil; 1,985 MW in North America, primarily in the US; and 737 MW in Africa, Asia, and Oceania.

The 2022 renewable capacity generates 13 TWh per year, eliminating 9 million tons of CO2 emissions. This additional capacity avoids 2.9 billion cubic meters of gas purchases per year.
