Sempra Infrastructure and PKN ORLEN S.A. have signed a 20-year long-term sale and purchase agreement (SPA) for the delivery of roughly 1 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 project in Texas, USA.

The scheme is licensed and expected to comprise two natural gas liquefaction trains, LNG storage tanks, and related facilities capable of producing 13.5 Mtpa of LNG under ideal conditions. The development requires commercial agreements, permits, funding, and a final investment decision.

Sempra aims to make a final investment decision for the project in the Q1 of 2023, with initial cargo deliveries in 2027.
