INEOS has signed a 20-year deal with Sempra Infrastructure for the delivery of approximately 1.4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) from Phase 1 of the Port Arthur LNG facility currently under construction in Texas, USA.
Additionally, INEOS inked non-binding heads of agreement (HOA) for the possible purchase of an extra 0.2 mtpa from the under-development Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project. Deliveries are anticipated in 2027. The 3,000-acre LNG terminal's two natural gas liquefaction trains, LNG storage tanks, and related facilities are expected to produce 13.5mtpa of LNG under optimal conditions.
INEOS also inked a long-term deal for regasification capacity at the projected German LNG Terminal in Brunsbuettel, In July, INEOS signed a long-term regasification capacity at the German LNG Terminal in Brunsbuettel, Germany. The facility can handle 8 billion cubic meters (bcma) of natural gas per year and can be increased to at least 10 bcma.
