HIF Global has submitted the Environmental Impact Study for 384 MW Faro del Sur Wind Park to the National Environmental Assessment Authority in Chile.
The wind park is a collaboration between HIF Chile and Enel Green Power, involving the installation of 64 wind turbines and a US$500 million investment. Faro del Sur will incorporate a 12.3-km underground transmission line operating at 66 kV. This park is intended to supply renewable energy to the HIF Cabo Negro eFuels facility, a future development anticipated by HIF Chile in the industrial zone of Cabo Negro, located in Punta Arenas. The eFuels facility has initiated its environmental assessment process. In addition, Faro del Sur will be equipped with a radar-assisted wind turbine detection system and an automatic arresting system for shadow control.
