Mainstream Renewable Power has started the commissioning of the 160 MW Llanos del Viento wind farm located in the region of Antofagasta in northern Chile.
The project consists of 32 Siemens Gamesa 5.0-145 turbines that are connected to the 33 kV to 220 kV (SEE Llanos del Viento 33/220 kV), an underground channel of 33 kV and a Line High Voltage 220 kV transmission systems. The project is a part of 630 MW second phase of Andes Renovables – called Huemul ( which comprise of three onshore wind and two solar PV generation assets).
The wind farm is expected to begin full commercial operations before the end of 2023. The Llanos del Viento wind project is the sixth wind farm that Mainstream has built in Chile.
