FairWind has been selected as the installation partner for the 778 MW Horizonte Wind Park project in Antofagasta region, Chile.
The project will consists of a total of 140 Enercon E-160 EP5 wind turbines installed over an area of 8,000 ha (19,768 acres) situated 130 km north-east of Taltal and 80 km east of Paposo in the region of Antofagasta. The wind facility will generate an average of 2,400 GWh annually, equivalent to the consumption of more than 700 thousand homes. It reduces up to 1.2 million tonnes (Mt) of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions a year.
The installation of the wind turbines will begin in February 2023 and will be completely operational by May 2024.
