YPF Luz has received an international loan from up to US$150 million for the development and construction of the park Cañónón León wind farm located in Santa Cruz, Argentina.
The operation consists of a BNP Paribas Fortis loan of up to US$100 million guaranteed by Euler Hermes (export credit agency of Germany), and a loan from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC, former OPIC) for another US$50 million.
With 29 GE turbines, the 120 MW wind facility generates enough power to meet the annual demand of some 150,000 households and offsets 312,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year.
