Genneia starts the commercial operation of 151 MW Puerto Madryn II wind project in in Argentina

Compañía Administradora del Mercado Mayorista Eléctrico (CAMMESA) has granted the commercial authorization of the second stage of the Madryn Wind Farm. The project represents a total investment amounts to US$320 million. 

The Puerto Madryn II wind farm has 62 wind turbines - 117 meters high and 60-meter long blades, erected more than 6,000 hectares on provincial route 4, in the province of Chubut. The is clean energy produced for the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI) will supply electricity of more than 330,000 homes. 

The project generates more than 300 jobs and entrusted its technology to the Danish company Vestas. The park has an average capacity factor of 51% and winds that blow at an average of 8.6 m/s, characteristics that will allow it to generate 987,000 MWh of energy per year and take care of the planet by avoiding the emanation of 495,000 tons of carbon at the atmosphere.
