The Italian Council of Ministers has notified wpd Italia that the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the 119.35 MW Borgo Mezzanone wind project in Apulia has been approved.
In the region of Puglia, between the towns of Manfredonia and Foggia, 22 wind turbines will be constructed as part of the project. It is anticipated to generate more than 370 GWh of energy per year, which is equivalent to the yearly energy consumption of around 130,000 ordinary households and will help prevent approximately 220,000 tons of greenhouse emissions annually.
With the notice of the positive EIA, renewable energy projects in Italy can move forward with the final construction approval process.
