Galileo Green Energy GmbH and Hope Group have formed a joint venture (JV) to develop a 525 MW floating offshore wind farm project located in the southern region of Apulia, in the Southern Adriatic Sea, Italy.
The wind farm will consist of 35 15-MW wind turbines that will be installed on floating onshore wind foundations. Once operational, the project can generate up to 1.5 billion kWh of energy per year which is enough to support and needs of about 500,000 homes.
The JV plans to complete the environmental impact studies, including those on the seabed, birdlife, mammals, and landscape, to support its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) application for the project.
