EDP Renewables has launched ENERGY TOGETHER, a crowdfunding campaign for the development of renewable energy projects in Italy. Residents of Casalbore, the surrounding area, and other Italians have the opportunity to invest in the development of a wind farm through this campaign.
EDPR has chosen Campania, where it is constructing a 28.8 MW wind project consisting of six wind turbines in the municipality of Casalbore, Italy. This wind farm is anticipated to generate 65,000 MWh per year, which is sufficient to cover the energy needs of around 22,000 families while saving approximately 90,000 barrels of oil equivalent each year.
Residents of Casalbore, Benevento, and surrounding municipalities will be the first to be able to invest beginning September 5, 2022. The campaign will thereafter be available to the rest of Italy from September 26 through October 31, 2022. The campaign has a minimum investment of EUR200 (US$198.62) [with a maximum of EUR10,000 (US$9,932)] and a duration of 48 months. It has an overall minimum investment of EUR300,000 (US$297,944) and a maximum goal of EUR500,000 (US$496,573).
