Sembcorp Utilities, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, has completed acceptance tests to switch on its 588 MW solar project in the Ad Dakhiliyah governorate of northeastern Oman.
The project operates under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Nama Power and Water Procurement Co. Sembcorp and Jinko Power were awarded the construction contract in early 2023. It is one of two solar initiatives granted to international developers by OPWP in 2023. The 500 MW Manah 1 project, located approximately 150 km (93.2 miles) south of Muscat, was developed by a consortium led by EDF Renewables. The project is nearing completion and is scheduled to commence operations in early 2025.
