Oman's Nama Power and Water Procurement (PWP) has launched a tender to select developers for the 280 MW Al Kamil Wal Wafi Solar IPP Project.
The project is the fourth solar plant tendered by OPWP. All of the projects are part of the Omani government’s plan to add around 4 GW of renewable capacity by 2030. The operational 500 MW Ibri 2 solar plant, completed in January 2022 within 13 months, exemplifies the nation’s progress in renewable energy. Additionally, Oman’s 2018 rooftop PV regulation promotes small-scale solar installations to complement utility-scale projects and support its sustainability goals.
Interested developers will have time until February 3, 2024, to submit their statement of qualification. The tender could be accessed here.
