Hanwha Q Cells has announced its investment of over US$2.5 billion to the development of a 3.3 GW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Georgia, USA. The PV farm will consist of solar ingots, wafers, cells, and modules.
Q Cells plans to start construction on a new solar factory in Bartow County, where components will be manufactured. It also has a facility in Dalton where an additional 2 GW of modules will be assembled. With plans to increase Dalton production by a further 5.1 GW, Q Cells expects its total output in Georgia to reach 8.4 GW by 2024.
