Opdenergy has inaugurated the wind farm La Estrella, its first wind asset in Chile located in the area of O’Higgins. The wind farm has a total installed capacity of 50 MW which will produce 100 GWh/year, equivalent to the annual energy consumption of more than 60,000 homes.

The project consists of 11 wind turbines Siemens Gamesa with an individual capacity of 4.5 MW, a height of 127.5 meters, and a 145-meter diameter three-bladed rotor.

Opdenergy sells its energy production to the Chilean electric distributors through long-term PPA contracts, signed after being awarded 176 GWh/year in the Chilean 2016 renewable energy tender, with a combination of wind and solar energy.
