Enagás, ACCIONA Energía, and GNL Quintero have partnered to develop an electrolysis plant in Quintero Bay (Chile) for the generation of green hydrogen, from water (H2O) and renewable electricity.
The operation of the “Green Hydrogen Bahía Quintero” project seeks to offer a clean and sustainable energy alternative, contributing to the decarbonization process of the country's energy matrix and the environmental recovery of the Puchuncaví and Quintero communes, in the Valparaíso Region.
The plant will be located in the GNL Quintero regasification terminal. It will have a nominal power of 10 MW and considers an initial production of the order of 500 tonnes per year, which will gradually increase depending on the demand for green hydrogen generated in the area. The project contemplates an estimated investment of US$30 million.
