Empresas Gasco signs deal to acquire 50% of 150 MW Copiapó solar project

Chilean gas company Empresas Gasco has entered into an agreement to sell the 50% stakes in Copiapo Energia Solar SpA, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) that develops a 150 MW solar photovoltaic project in the Atacama region of Chile. 

The project will be sold to Uruguayan firm Ampres SA for US$2.3 million. SolarReserve, the initial developer of the project has secured environmental and other permits needed for the construction and operation of the solar farm in 2015.
