Japan Renewable Energy Corp (JRE) and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. (SMFG) have begun commercial operation of the 79.94 MW JRE Yamato Takamori 1 and 2 solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.
The solar power plants located in Yamato municipality will generate 99.4 million kWh annually, which is sufficient to cover the yearly electricity needs of almost 22,000 local families.
Kyushu Electric Power Transmission and Distribution Co Inc. will buy the power output of the project.
