Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen) and Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation (Toshiba ESS) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for Operation and Maintenance (O&M) services for the geothermal power projects in developing countries including East African countries.
The Great Rift Valley, a tectonic plate border extending from Lebanon in Asia to Mozambique in Southeast Africa with significant geothermal potential, is the subject of an ongoing survey to identify geothermal resources. KenGen and Toshiba plan to collaborate on this opportunity and expand their businesses further.
