The Kenya Electricity Generating Company Plc (KenGen) has launched a Request for Proposal (RFQ) tender to solicit consultancy services to conduct a feasibility study for green hydrogen, ammonia, and fertilizer production facility at a pilot plant in Olkaria, Naivasha, Kenya.
The objective of the study is to assess the technical, financial, economic, environmental, and social viability of the proposed green hydrogen project through electrolysis technology and fertilizer production and prepare a bankable blueprint for its development considering the existing market, and applicable laws and regulations governing the development. In addition, the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a 5 MW green hydrogen pilot plant and fertilizer production plant shall be done based on the outcome of the feasibility study. The feasibility study is expected to be completed within six (6) months.
The deadline for the submission of proposals is on September 30, 2022.
