VALOREM Group, an independent renewable energy operator, announces a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google for 97.3 MW of additional capacity from the Matkussaari wind farm in Finland.
Google signed a ten-year pay-as-produced PPA in 2024 to enable new clean capacity for Finland’s grid. The wind farm project, which has been operational since May 2025, now contributes to a growing secure electricity supply for the country. This agreement also supports the VALOREM Group’s strategy as an independent renewable energy producer and demonstrates its long-term commitment to the Finnish market.
Located in Kurikka, South Ostrobothnia, the Matkussaari wind farm is owned and operated by the VALOREM Group and has a total installed capacity of 148.5 MW. It comprises 27 Nordex N163 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5.5 MW. Together with the Kalistanneva wind farm (owned by HELEN and Ålandsbanken), Matkussaari forms part of the 313.5 MW VIIATTI project. Inaugurated in August 2025, VIIATTI is the largest wind power plant ever built by the VALOREM Group.
