Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has completed the construction of the 83 MW Olkaria I Unit 6 Geothermal Power Plant project located in Nakuru County, Kenya.
The plant's turbine was delivered by Fuji Electric Co Ltd while Marubeni Corp served as the project contractor. The project is now undergoing reliability testing to confirm its output before the commercial operation date which is expected by June 2022.
The total plant capacity is now increased from 713 MW to 793 MW.
