Green Power Investment (GPI) has selected GE Renewable Energy to supply turbines for the development of the 79.8 MW Fukaura Wind Farm project that will be located in Fukaura Town, Nishi Tsugaru District, Aomori Prefecture, Japan.
The wind farm will consist of 19 GE 4.2-117 wind turbines with a rotor diameter of 117 m and a hub height of 110 m. The deal also covers a ten-year full-service contract that is extendable. Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. is supporting the project as a strategic partner in GPI’s projects in the Tohoku region.
The project is expected to be operational by 2024.
