Hyphen Hydrogen Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ITOCHU Corporation. Under the MOU, the companies will engage in detailed discussions to identify areas where they can work together on green hydrogen and ammonia projects in Namibia. With the goal of promoting sustainable development and reducing carbon emissions, the collaboration will focus on leveraging their expertise and resources to maximize the project's impact.
The project, which has been awarded to Hyphen through a competitive tender process, aims to establish a hub capable of producing 2 million tonnes of green ammonia annually. To achieve this, the hub will incorporate approximately 3 GW of electrolyzers, powered by an extensive 7 GW of renewable energy sources.
By joining forces with ITOCHU, Hyphen plans to bring together their respective strengths and accelerate the development of the green hydrogen project.
