The Namibian Electricity Control Board (ECB) has granted generation and export licenses to Schonau Solar Energy, a 125 MW DC solar photovoltaic project located in Karasburg, Namibia.
The project, being developed by Emesco, will generate clean energy for 25 years that will be supplied to the South African grid through the Southern African Power Pool’s (SAPP) competitive electricity markets.
The solar farm represents about US$105 million in investment.
