Hyphen Hydrogen Energy progresses with plans to develop 6 GW hydrogen project in Namibia

Hyphen Hydrogen Energy has announced that its discussion with the Namibian government about the conclusion of the Implementation Agreement for a 6 GW green hydrogen project in Tsau/Khaeb national park has advanced in a constructive manner. The front-end engineering and design phase of the hydrogen project will get underway after the Implementation Agreement is signed.

The US$10 billion scheme is anticipated to produce 350,000 tons of green hydrogen annually for regional and global markets by the end of the decade.

Boston Consulting Group and Lazard have joined Hyphen as its international strategic and financial advisors, complementing its current legal advisory team comprising Slaughter & May and ENS Africa.

Hyphen and the Namibian Government have targeted construction in January 2025, with the first phase becoming operational by the end of 2026.
