The Namibian government has partnered with Hyphen Hydrogen Energy to launch National Green Hydrogen Roadshows, aimed at sharing information about the 5 GW Hyphen project.

The roadshows will tour major towns in all 14 regions of the country. The Hyphen project is the first step in the implementation of the government's strategy to establish a large-scale green hydrogen industry in Namibia, aimed at supporting economic growth in the country, with a total investment of US$10 billion.

Hyphen’s green hydrogen project is one of the largest in the world. By 2027, the company aims for an annual production of one million tonnes of green ammonia, with plans to increase annual production to two million tonnes by 2029. This will contribute to the decarbonization of Namibia’s energy systems while exporting green ammonia to international markets. At full scale, Hyphen’s project could produce 350,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually, reducing 5-6 million tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
