GOLDBECK SOLAR has been selected to carry out the construction of the biggest photovoltaic projects in ImWind's history, acting as the overall contractor for the turnkey construction of the Nickelsdorf solar photovoltaic (PV) park in northeastern Burgenland and the Tauernwind solar PV in Steiermark.
With a combined output of 42 MWp, the PV plants will provide around 13,000 Austrian households with clean solar energy in the future and reduce approximately 22,000 tonnes of CO2.
Both of the solar power plants feed electricity into the public power distribution network through existing wind farms and are characterized by the efficient utilization of existing grid infrastructure. Feeding in electricity through the hybrid method reduces the cost of expanding the grid, optimizes the use of existing project areas, and guarantees more consistent electricity generation.
Austria has installed 1.4 GW solar capacity in 2022. In 2021, the country deployed 740 MW of new PV systems, 341 MW in 2020, and 247 MW in 2019. If the revised projections for 2022 are verif...
