Global Energy Services (GES) has been choosen to build 97 MWp Capricornio solar park and 162 MW Calama wind farm in Antofagasta, in Chile by Engie Energia Chile SA.
GES secured a single engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, due to the its work on wind farms in Mexico for French multinational Engie SA.
The engineering phase for the Calama wind farm, featuring 36 turbines of 4.5 MW each with a hub height of 94 metres, has been started. GES will provide the full scope of EPC services, from laying down foundations to building all electrical infrastructure and connection to the existing overhead power lines.
For the Capricornio PV, will be located 35 km from the city of Antofagasta, GES will be in charge of the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), without supplying the main equipment of the solar field, which includes both the interconnection line and the substations
The Construction of the two projects will end in about a year.
