IDB Invest, a member of the IDB group, and Engie Energía Chile, sealed a financing of US$125 million to finance the construction, operation and maintenance of the Calama Wind Farm (151 MW) in the Antofagasta Region.
The financing, which has a 12-year term, is made up of three loan tranches: one from IDB Invest resources, for US$74 million; a second of US$15 million in financing from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF), and a third of US$36 million from the Chinese Fund for co-financing in Latin America and the Caribbean (China Fund). In addition, the multi-donor fund NDC Acelera administered by the IDB and funded by the Nordic Development Fund, Austria, the Netherlands and Sweden, financed the technical work accompanying the transaction.
