Matrix Renewables and Centrica Energy Marketing & Trading have announced the signing of a new virtual power purchase agreement. Under this PPA agreement, Centrica will offtake electricity production from a 24 MW solar park in Andalusia beginning in July 2023, with the energy traded in balancing and merchant power markets. The solar farm has the capacity to generate about 50 GWh of renewable energy every year.
Matrix Renewables has inked its sixth PPA in Spain to promote the development of its asset portfolio, and the agreement will help strengthen Centrica's asset portfolio and strategic position in the Spanish market.
