Matrix Renewables has started the commercial operation of the Rocío 1, 2, and 3 solar photovoltaic projects located in Huelva in Andalucia, Spain which have a combined capacity of 129 MW.
The projects will generate enough power for the consumption of up to 78,500 households annually, offsetting about 93,000 tonnes per year of carbon emission. H&M Group has signed a multi-year power purchase agreement, which will start at the commercial operation date of the plants.
Matrix Renewables is a renewable energy developer that is backed by TPG Rise. The Rocio PV project will be Matrix's first in Spain to include a collocated battery storage system, as well as one of the country's first battery storage projects.
