PortAventura World has inaugurated the 6.05 MW PortAventura Solar, the largest self-consumption solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in a holiday resort in Spain and one of the largest with these characteristics in Europe through its energy partner, Endesa.
The solar project, which has relied on Endesa X, Endesa's energy services subsidiary, has included the installation of 11,102 solar panels, placed on the ground, occupying a total area of 6.4 ha within the resort and generates a third of the energy that the park needs to operate.
The project generates up to 10 GWh of clean energy per year and offsets about 4,000 tons of CO2 annually. In order to connect the plant with the existing electrical infrastructure in the park, a 25 kilovolt (kV) underground medium voltage line has been built and 6 MW inverters have been installed that will transform direct current into alternating current and raise the voltage to 25kV.
The Taaleri SolarWind III Fund, Taaleri Energia’s sixth renewable energy fund, has held a first closing, with approximately EUR286 million in commitments. The Fund's investment st...
