Solarpack has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with a duration of around 10 years for the 54 MWp solar photovoltaic project located in Cañada Alta, Murcia, Spain.
Solarpack will supply Shell with 105 GWh a year of clean energy starting in June 2024. The project will generate the equivalent energy to meet the annual electricity needs of around 37,000 Spanish homes and will employ around 170 people during its construction. It is estimated that it will produce enough clean energy to avoid around 75,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions a year which would have been generated through a non-renewable power supply.
The project is being financed with EUR38 million (US$41.21 million) from BBVA.
