Spanish company Solarpack has announced the official grid connection of the 144 MW La Unión solar plant, located in the municipality of Montería, located in the department of Córdoba, Colombia.
The project required a US$100 million investment. Solarpack secured US$134.5 million in financing for the La Unión and La Mata projects, with support from IDB Invest and Bancolombia. Solarpack was awarded these projects in Colombia’s recent long-term renewable energy auction, securing contracts for a total of 1,123 MWh/day at an average price of 155.8 Colombian pesos per kWh (approximately USD 0.041 per kWh).
