Celsia, the energy company of Grupo Argos, has started the commercial operation of the 9.9 MW Celsia Solar Buga I plant in the city of Buga, in the department of Valle del Cauca, Colombia.
The project consists of 630 solar modules installed on about 22 hectares of land which will serve the companies Solla and Alianza Team. Celsia has invested COP55 billion (US$13.14 million) to develop the project.
With Celsia Solar Buga I, the company completes six farms in Valle del Cauca that total 59.1 MW of installed capacity (Yumbo, Carmelo, La Paila, Tuluá, Palmira III, and Buga I), large-scale projects that add to another eight Celsia solar farms in Tolima (6), Sucre (1) and Bolívar (1), for a total of 14 in Colombia, which in total have an installed capacity of more than 200 MWp.
