Enerfín has secured a loan of up to COP300 billion (US$66 million) intended to finance the construction of the company's first photovoltaic (PV) plant, situated in the municipality of La Dorada, in the Caldas department of Colombia. The PV park will have a capacity of 129 MWp and is expected to produce around 263 GWh of energy yearly, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 132,480 tonnes annually.
The loan was obtained through a long-term debt instrument with Banco de Bogotá and Banco de Occidente. However, the loan was obtained without any contributions from the shareholders, and it complements other financing sources available to Enerfín.
Enerfín is set to commission the PV plant in November 2023, with the anticipation that the facility will operate throughout its lifetime under the local management of the Enerfín team. This project is a crucial component of Enerfín's plan to boost the supply of renewable energy and promote sustainable practices in Colombia.
