Operations started at 83 MW Solar PV project in Colombia

Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) has announced the beginning of operation of its 83 MW Tepuy solar plant located in the municipality of La Dorada in the department of Caldas, Colombia.

The facility consists of 199,534 bifacial solar panels ranging from 540 W to 550 W, supported by 29,000 metal structures with solar trackers, on an area of around 220 ha. EPM launched a tendering process to award an engineering consultancy contract for the project's development in April 2022, the company began the construction of the project in July 2022. The solar plant serves the National Interconnected System (SIN) under a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement.
