Capital Energy has awarded the contract to Gestacur to build the 51 MW wind farm project located in the municipality of Montealegre del Castillo, La Herrada, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain.
The facility will consist of 10 5.0 – 145 models, with a unit power of 5.2 MW, wind turbines that are designed to generate enough power for the consumption of up to 56,000 homes. The wind turbines will be supplied by Siemens Gamesa. Gestacur will be in charge of the engineering, supply, construction, start-up, and restoration works of the wind farm.
Once operational, the project is expected to provide up to 149,000 MWh of clean energy per year. Capital Energy will invest approximately EUR53 million (US$57.01 million) in the project.
