Siemens Gamesa has been contracted by Capital Energy to supply turbines for the development of the 52 MW wind farm located in the province of Albacete, in the southeast of Spain.
The La Herrada wind power plant will consist of 10 SG 5.0-145 wind turbines. The project is scheduled to be commissioned in the first half of 2024. The agreement also includes the maintenance of the wind turbines for a period of 20 years.
Once operational, the wind farm is expected to generate enough power for up to 41,000 households and offset about 140,000 metric tons of carbon emission a year.
