Brazil’s antitrust agency CADE (Administrative Council for Economic Defense) has approved the bid of Royal Dutch Shell Plc to acquire the 81.5% stake in Cosan Biomassa from Raizen Energia.
Cosan Biomassa is a producer of sugarcane bagasse and straw pellets for power generation.
Raizen Energia is a joint venture between its local arm Shell Brazil Holding BV and Brazil's Cosan.
