ACWA Power has inked an agreement to develop a green hydrogen facility named Garuda Hidrogen Hijau (GH2) in Indonesia.
In partnership with Indonesia's state-owned electricity provider PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and state-owned chemical and fertilizer producer PT Pupuk Indonesia, the GH2 Project is set to commence commercial operations in 2026. The project, valued at over US$1 billion, will leverage 600 MW of solar and wind power to produce approximately 150,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually.
The engineering procurement and construction (EPC) bidding process is slated to begin in early 2024, with financial closure anticipated by the end of 2025.
