Total Eren has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 70 MW wind project with a 10 MW battery energy storage system located in Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, Indonesia.
The PPA for the wind farm has been signed with Adaro Power (AP) and PowerICA. The construction phase of the wind farm is set to commence at the beginning of 2024 and is expected to achieve commissioning in 2025. The wind power plant's construction and operation will support the government's renewable energy targets, which are designed to increase the share of renewables in the national energy mix.
The Tanah Laut wind farm will use the latest wind turbine technology with a capacity of above 6 MW to mitigate its intermittency. The battery storage system will also help reduce the variability and unpredictability of wind power, thereby increasing overall generation efficiency.
