Tender issued for 100 MW Floating solar project in Indonesia

PT PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) has announced a tender for a 100 MW floating solar plant public-private partnership (PPP) project in Indonesia. 

The selected partners will be involved in the development of a 100 MW floating solar plant on an existing dam in Karangkates, Malang District, East Java, Indonesia. Interested entities should have experience in the development of at least one solar power plant project. The pre-qualification competition was open to companies that have completed the PLN NP Expression of Interest (EOI) procedure. The pre-qualification competition began on January 16, 2023 and ended on January 26, 2023.

The project is scheduled to launch in 2025. According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Indonesia had about 211 MW of installed photovoltaic capacity at the end of 2021.
